Munster Wheelchair Hurling Camogie Club make their mark on Interprovincial round 1. The first round of the Interprovincial Wheelchair Hurling/Camogie League took place on Saturday, April 26 in Clarin College in Athenry.

The first round of the Interprovincial Wheelchair Hurling/Camogie League took place on Saturday, April 26, in Clarin College in Athenry.  

Munster Wheelchair Hurling/Camogie Club’s Senior Panel won all 3 of their games on the day, the club now has 14 Senior Players and 23 Junior Players and they train every Thursday in the Millennium Centre in Caherconlish, Limerick.

Captained by Maurice Noonan from Ballingarry, the first game against Ulster was a thrilling encounter and made for an excellent display of intent and determination.  Munster won this game 3-2 to 3-0.

The next game against Leinster was a tight pairing with some superb scoring from both sides and another win for Munster 6-2 to 4-0.  Connacht have proven themselves as worthy adversaries in this sport and have improved year on year. With some ferocious tackles and some excellent performances, this game was another win for Munster 6-2 to 2-3.

Round 2 of the Interprovincial Wheelchair Hurling/Camogie League is scheduled for Omagh, Co. Tyrone on the 17th of May.

The group started this year’s campaign off the back of what was their most successful season ever in 2024, winning the 2024 Wheelchair Hurling League and going on to be crowned All-Ireland Champions on September 22.

Following an incredible start to the 2025 campaign, the Munster Wheelchair Hurling Camogie Club will be hoping to continue with this form throughout the season as they hope to become back-to-back winners and add to their six All-Ireland Championships and 4 League titles this year.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online.
