The Munster Women look forward to a Saturday meeting with Leinster following their 47-12 victory over Connacht in Galway.

The Munster’s women impressed to book their Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship 2026 final spot, following a strong response after an early Connacht score coming through Uillian Eilian in the third minute.

Matt Brown’s side fought back quickly with Alana McInerney getting Munster on the board just two minutes later, with the conversion added by Caitriona Finn.

After a fluttering start to the game, the next score wouldn’t come until the 24th minute when Alisha Flynn crossed the line with Finn adding another conversion.

Munster took a 21 – 5 lead in at the break thanks to Finn taking a try of her own just before the half, and adding another conversion.

Munster showed now slowing down in the second half as McInerney crossed for her second try in the 42nd with Finn adding another conversion before scoring a second try in the 47th minute.

Player of the match, McInerney completed a hat-trick in the 55th minute to extend the Munster advantage. Just two minutes later, Munster found themselves thankful for the daylight between the teams as Siobhan McCarthy was sent to the sin bin in the 57th minute, leaving the Munster team a player down.

Connacht took advantage of the extra player, adding a try in the 62nd minute, but Munster proved too strong with Abbie Salter-Townshend crossed under the posts to extend the lead, with Finn converting again to take the score to 47-12.

Matt Brown’s side will now head back to Galway this Saturday to face Leinster in the 2026 Women’s Interprovincial Championship final (KO 4.30pm).
