This once-in-a-lifetime show was a sell-out success throughout the USA leaving audiences spellbound in its wake, and for one night only it is coming to Ireland, to the Treaty City, for its European debut!

CWB is an entertainment start-up company based in Limerick. They have managed, launched and curated many artists, and events such as Rubberbandits, the Culture Factory and Féile Classical. The pathway to LK’s 2020 vision has been reactivated with the assistance of LK GAA and CWB.ie. Possibly the largest Symphonic presentation of its kind to ever land in Ireland and placing our City as an organic Capital of Culture.

Local promoters CWB.ie have worked closely with the show producers, LA JMP on securing this show for Limerick having worked with them across Europe on a range of award-winning shows.

Their commitment to putting a spotlight on Limerick on the international stage, as a city that can compete with any other destination in Europe for large-scale events, has paid off in their winning of this European premiere and comes on the back of their 2 sold Feile Classical shows taking place the week before.

Hosting an event of this stature will bring in an estimated socio-economic boost of €6 million to the region and it will also highlight the city as a destination for events that goes much further than sporting occasions.

National Geographic Symphony for our World combines awe-inspiring National Geographic natural history footage perfectly synchronized with an original symphony, performed live on stage by the National Geographic Symphony Orchestra, led by Irish Composer Kenneth Rice. The impressive 80-piece orchestra will perform the symphony and theme created by Emmy- and BAFTA-nominated Austin Fray and Andrew Christie of Bleedin Finger Music (The Hobbit, Startrek Beyond) with the ‘xxxx Limerick Choir’ to an audience seated in the Mackey Stand.

Irish audiences will be treated to a 90-minute immersive symphonic experience, a feast for the eyes, for the ears and for the heart! Presented on two of the largest High Definition screens in Europe, the groundbreaking imagery is made up of 130 years of beloved National Geographic history of the world’s most incredible wildlife spectacles. From ice diving foxes in Canada to hammerhead sharks maneuvering their way through the Indian Ocean, the footage captures a world that few will ever see in real life.

Driven by a five-part composition, National Geographic Symphony for our World pairs artistry with science as it brings viewers from the depths of the sea, up to the coastlines, onto land, through mountains, and into the sky. Each environment will be accompanied by a different orchestral movement, resulting in a powerful musical tribute to the beauty and wonders of our wild world.

Special guests will be the All Ireland Champions the Limerick Senior Hurling Team and the Liam McCarthy Cup, who will meet and greet fans here in the Gaelic Grounds along with the CBS Sexton Street Pipe Band. Expect a full bar service and a wide range of artisan food stalls from the Limerick Milk Market.

Ticketholders can avail of a full 360 concert experience, as the event is partnered with the multi-award-winning Limerick Milk Market to host a food and drink village with the best of local produce including wines, beers, barista coffees and local juices.

Speaking of the inaugural event in the Gaelic Grounds Chairperson Paul Foley said, “For our first ever concert at the Gaelic Grounds, we are delighted that promoters CWB have secured such an exclusive. We are also most grateful for the support of Limerick City and County Council. This very special European Premier with world-famed National Geographic will be an amazing and historic event for the venue. Combining 130 years of National Geographic’s visual storytelling, with original music from award-winning composers, we’re certain that must-see show, will thrill Limerick audiences.”

Eanna Ní Lamhna well-known environmental commentator and wildlife enthusiast, “There is great interest in how wildlife live in each different ecosystem on earth and this show follows living things from the depths of the ocean all the way to the skies above with glorious images. The musical performance enhances the whole experience. Making footage like this is becoming more and more difficult as we humans continue to over-exploit the planet we all share. Enjoy watching it and appreciate the fragility of these ecosystems which are so rapidly being adversely affected by our lifestyles.”

Tickets from €59.50 including booking fee available 9 am Friday 6 July 2018 from www.ticketmaster.ie and all usual ticket outlets.
