Maryruth Culver gave a spectacular display on concert harp and Aisling Lyons and Roisin Hayes performed a selection of old and newly composed music on the lever harp.

Members of the Blossom Harp Ensemble also took to the stage along with Fiana Ní Chonaill and her student harp ensemble, which is made up of members Laura Carey, Brian Grace, Siobhan Bailey, Ciara Kennedy, Ellie May Fogarty and Abbie O’Dwyer.

Dr. Sandra Joyce, Director of the Irish World Academy,  who introduced the lunchtime concert had this to say: “Lá na Cruite is a unique and important musical event, and I am delighted that the Irish World Academy participated.  Harp performance and research have been important to the Academy since its inception and this national celebration is testament to the strength of interest in this iconic instrument.”
