‘Working Better Together’ Theme for Network Ireland Limerick March Event

9 March 2018: AIB’s Head of Business Banking, Catherine Moroney, and local author Roisin Meaney, are the keynote speakers for a special Network Ireland Limerick event which will take place in AIB’s 106 O’Connell Street branch, Limerick on March 22, 2018. 

The AIB-sponsored event is free and open to all women in business, the professions and the arts in the Mid-west.

Both speakers will talk to the theme ‘Working Better Together’.  Catherine Moroney, Head of Business Banking, AIB, will explain why Ireland as a country needs to work together to ensure we are prepared for post-Brexit and continued prosperity.  She will also call on women in business to work better together as they press for progress in terms of equality.

Limerick author Roisin Meaney, who is an advocate for random acts of kindness, will share her success story to date and encourage women to be kinder to each other as they support each other to achieve things they could not do alone.

Catherine Moroney is the Head of AIB Business Banking for AIB Bank in Ireland. Her business experience includes 18 years in AIB Corporate Banking, structuring acquisition, buy-out and project finance and 10 years’ heading Business Units responsible for the development of Strategy, Products and Services for Personal & Business Customers. 

Prior to her current role, Catherine was the Regional Director for AIB in Dublin, where she was responsible for the Retail Network and for the Personal and SME client base in AIB for the Dublin Region.   Catherine is also a Nonexecutive Director for Aviva Health and a Council Member and Nonexecutive Director of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and is a graduate of UCD Business School.

Catherine is a Reiki Master and is the mother of two boys. 

In 2001 Roisin Meaney (Kerry born, Limerick-based, roots in Clare courtesy of parents) took a year off primary teaching and traveled to San Francisco to write The Daisy Picker, which won a two-book publishing deal with Tivoli Books. In 2008, with four published novels under her belt, she gave up the day job to write fulltime. To date, she is the author of fourteen adult novels and two children’s books, and her works have been translated into several languages. Selected books have also been published in Australia and the US. She is currently working on The Anniversary, which is scheduled to hit the shelves in early June 2018.

In her spare time she visits schools and libraries to talk about the joys of reading and the adventure of writing, and once a month she tells stories to small children in her local library. She is a fan of cats, chocolate, baking, and kindness. With a friend, she manages the Random Acts of Kindness Limerick page on Facebook.

During the working day everyone is focused on working on their own initiative and efforts to move forward.  We provide a platform for women in business to come together, share their experiences and learn from each other.”

Network Ireland Limerick provides a forum where women in business, the professions and the Arts can exchange business ideas and increase their business contacts. It encourages women to achieve more satisfying careers and promotes women as worthy contributors to the Irish economy. Network Ireland Limerick is a branch of Network Ireland, a national organisation driving the personal and professional development of women with almost 1,000 members and 15 branches throughout the country. 

Network Ireland Limerick holds monthly networking meetings where a guest speaker is invited to educate, inform and entertain on topics of interest to women. Members can develop and pool their individual skills through interaction with other women in a supportive environment which offers, training, mentoring and an opportunity for women who call on other members with specialist expertise for help. It also provides a forum for established women to develop professional and social contacts.

This event is open to women (members and non-members). Places are limited, so early booked is advised.
