Limerick will host a new festival this Brigid’s Bank Holiday weekend, ‘All We Have Are Days’

Limerick’s new festival this Brigid’s Bank Holiday weekend as ‘All We Have Are Days‘ promises a weekend celebration of culture and music through its community and a host of Irish and international talent.

Presented in partnership with Guinness, Limerick City & County Council, and Limerick Chamber of Commerce, All we Have are Days will run from Friday, January 31 to Monday, February 3.

Featuring talent such as Oscar nominee Ruth Negga, Dream Hampton, Quantic, Lisa Hannigan and more, this music-centred festival will bring unique performances, conversations, screenings, and pop-up shows to some of the city’s most unique and welcoming venues – from cathedral stages to pub corners.

On what will be an extraordinary opening night for the inaugural All we Have are Days, Academy Award and Tony Award nominee Ruth Negga, Mercury Prize nominee Lisa Hannigan, and Irish Book of the Year winner Sinéad Gleeson come together in the 800 year-old St. Mary’s Cathedral on Friday, January 31 for a unique and singular evening to open the festival.

As three leading international Irish artists across film, music, and literature, All we Have are Days invites Ruth, Lisa, and Sinéad to an in conversation exploring the role of music in their creative lives, where it has shaped their work, their shared experiences, and their relationship with music today as a source of inspiration, a tool, or simply an enjoyment.

This intimate evening will also begin and end with solo performances from Lisa Hannigan, framing a memorable opening night, as All We Have Are Days welcomes artists and audiences to Limerick City for a winter weekend, with music at its heart.

As time counts down to the launch event, All We Have Are Days has been announcing acts through social media platforms with London’s Anna B Savage set to play her debut show in Limerick on Friday January 31st at The Commercial Bar. This will be the performer’s first show in Ireland since the release of her third record, You and i are Earth, and fresh from her support tour with St. Vincent.

TRIO, taking place in Dance Limerick, John’s Church, brings together three artists who have predominantly stood centre-stage throughout their careers, while also exploring the other parts, spaces, and instruments that populate a band. Now, Lisa Hannigan, Gemma Hayes, and Bell X1’s Paul Noonan will come together to collaborate, share their stage, and their songs in this intimate setting.

Festival Founder Eoin ‘Rocky’ O’Shea said, “All we Have are Days comes straight out of Limerick’s music and wider cultural community. We’re really looking forward to developing this festival over the next two years, and making it a place-defining festival for the Brigid’s weekend celebrations, welcoming national & international artists, guests and audiences to our city, to join with local artists and audiences, and enjoy the culture Limerick city and county have to offer.

The programme includes renowned photographer and filmmaker Brian B+ Cross, playwright Mike Finn, songwriters Steve Ryan & Emma Langford, writer & MC Denise Chaila, and illustrator Jacob Stack and more

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
