University of Limerick President, Prof Don Barry officially opened the new UL Visitors Centre, a service that will create a space that would act as the front door to the University, a place where visitors can find information about the University through the interactive maps, the Art Trail and Flora and Fauna Trails and browse the wonderful UL branded merchandise.

The extensive range on offer includes sportswear, outerwear, casualwear and a full range of corporate gifts from watches and compact mirrors to leather notebooks and umbrellas. The store also carries a wonderful selection of products from local craft producers and businesses such as Ballyhoura Ceramics, Ballymorris pottery, Kate Ramsay, Susan McCarthy designs, Wilde’s Irish Chocolates and many more.

Tadhg Kearney, Chairman Plassey Campus Centre said “The University of Limerick’s magnificent parkland and riverside campus has to date boasted extensive art collections, stunning architecture, state of the art sports facilities with the UL Arena and the prestigious University Concert Hall. Today see’s the addition of another feather to the our cap in the UL Visitors Centre. These facilities have all contributed to the recent accolades of Sunday Times University of the Year 2015 and the awarding of the Green Flag Campus and contribute greatly to both the UL and local community. The Centre will also have a vital role in attracting visitors to the city and the region”

Prof Don Barry, UL President in his address said, “I am delighted to officially open the University of Limerick Visitor Centre today. This newest addition to the University landscape will extend a warm UL welcome to our visitors from near and far, informing them about the UL story, offering a vital point of engagement and opening a portal to all that the campus has to offer. When the world comes to UL I know this Visitor Centre will give them a unique UL ‘fáilte’,” he said.

The UL Visitors Centre is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm and from 12pm  to 4pm on Saturdays.
