Previously, Noirín held a similar event and raised money for mental health awareness part of GROW Ireland and also spoke on Live 95FM and in the Limerick Leader about her own experience with mental health and to reduce the stigma.

Noirín always felt very strongly about improving mental health services in Limerick and expressed ideas for a community space where people can come and make connections, join activities and get information about how to access services in Limerick in a non-clinical, more inclusive setting.

In line with Noirín’s wishes, all proceeds raised for this event will be in conjunction with Limerick Mental Health Association and go towards the launch of new Solace cafe which will offer free out-of-hours mental health service aimed at providing crucial support in Limerick City. It will provide a welcoming, non-clinical, safe environment in the style of a café.

If you are unable to attend this event on the day and would still like to make a donation, you can on the fundraising website. Event organisers said, “Every contribution, no matter the amount, can make a real difference. Your support will help provide vital resources and service to those struggling with mental health challenges. So swing by, style up and show some love for a great cause.”
