The show announced the return of Editor and Newsreader Katelyn Hayes from Carrigkerry, Co. Limerick

Nuacht Cúla4 returns for its third season, available to watch every week from Tuesday to Friday.    

The programme is proud to welcome new reporters to the team this year, while also celebrating the return of Editor and Newsreader Katelyn Hayes from Carrigkerry, Co. Limerick, who continues in her role as Editor and Producer.

Katelyn, who studied Maths & Irish as well as a Master’s in Media Studies at the University of Galway, has played a central role in shaping the success of Nuacht Cúla4 to date.

She grew up in Carrigkerry, attending Carrigkerry National School and Scoil Mhuire agus Íde, and remains deeply connected to her family and community especially her grandmother Annie, whose stories have been a great inspiration to her. Katelyn has a strong grá for sport, having played soccer, ladies football, camogie, rounders and athletics when she was younger. Today, she continues that passion through sports commentary, particularly in ladies football, and last year she had the privilege of commentating from Croke Park. Nuacht Cúla4 continues to provide engaging, relevant and accessible news for younger audiences, helping to inform and inspire the next generation of Irish speakers.

Áine Humphreys, from Meanus, Co. Limerick and is among the new reporters joining the team this season. Áine attended Crecora National School and Laurel Hill Coláiste before earning her undergraduate degree in Gaeilge and Music from University College Cork and her Master’s in Education from the University of Galway.

In 2024, she was awarded a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship and spent time teaching Irish to students at The University of Montana, USA. Áine has a deep love for the Irish language and Irish culture, and she is passionate about sharing that love with people all over the world.

A talented musician, Áine plays the harp and has a particular grá for traditional Irish music. She enjoys attending events such as Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and Oireachtas na Samhna, and her favourite band is Kingfishr. Áine is also a dedicated sports fan, supporting the Limerick hurling and football teams. She played camogie with her local club and continued playing with the university team during her time in Montana. In her free time, she loves being outdoors with her family and spending time with her dogs, Roy and Lilo.

Nuacht Cúla4 continues to provide engaging, relevant and accessible news for younger audiences, helping to inform and inspire the next generation of Irish speakers.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
