A brand new barbershop has just opened at number 80, O’Connell Street, directly across from the Belltable Theatre. With over twenty years of hairstyling experience, Anita Twomey has launched her very own barbering business, Number 80 Barber Shop, which is now opened, Wednesdays to Saturdays, from 9 am to 5 pm.

Anita Twomey had intentions of becoming a hairstylist from a very young age. From humble beginnings as a child cutting and styling the hair of her dolls, Anita went on to do an apprenticeship with Peter Marks. She worked with L’Oreal and Robert Fielding in the UK, styling hair on movie sets, and then proceeding to take a styling course at the London College of Fashion. Anita returned to Ireland, working for Ultimate Hair and Beauty in Dublin, and then going freelance when she moved to Limerick. From cutting the hair of her three sons and their friends, Anita discovered her ability for barbering and decided to focus on this. Now, with an abundance of experience and passion for the craft, she is delighted to be running her own barbers, right in the city centre.
In a beautiful, private and personalised space with three styling stations, grey-toned wood-work and beaming golden lights, Number 80 Barber Shop is opened for business. Anita takes the time to perfect each cut and style, tailored to each individual. With walk-ins welcome, and special rates offered to students and Senior Citizens, the new barber shop is a warm and accessible place for anyone who is in need of anything from a quick trim, to a complete hair transformation.

Speaking about her barbershop, Anita said, “I just wanted to try something different. The space was here and I just thought I should take the opportunity. I do cuts, colouring, and highlights, and I will soon venture into the shaving route, with hot shaves and so on. Ultimately I knew when I opened the business that I wanted to make it a cut above the rest.”
Number 80 Barber Shop is currently hiring a qualified barber or someone who can rent a chair. Contact Anita on 061-310925, or drop into the shop at number 80 O’Connell Street.
