People of all ages took part in the Old Christians GAA Club ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ fundraiser in aid of NOVAS from June 20 to 21

The Old Christians ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ fundraiser event held on Friday, June 20 to Saturday, June 21 saw members of the community come together with the goal of supporting vital funds for Limerick’s NOVAS.

Club organisers said, “Our ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ event proved to be a fantastic night, with a great turnout and a steady stream of players keeping the game going from 9 PM Friday through to 9 AM Saturday.

“The simple goal-to-goal format made it easy for everyone to get involved, and it was brilliant to see such a mix of ages and abilities taking part.”

The atmosphere on the night reflected the community effort, with everyone feeling “laid-back and full of good spirits” with participants and organisers banding together to make sure every part of the night ran smoothly.

“We were also delighted to welcome a few familiar faces from Limerick’s hurling past, who gave their time to chat, take photos, and show their support,” said the organisers, showing how wide the community effort had gone.

Limerick legends Bernie Hartigan, Ger Hegarty, James Ryan, Mark Foley, Ciaran Carey, and Brian Geary all joined on the night, creating a special occasion that helped raise much-needed funds for a charity which is well-respected in the Limerick Community.

Organisers said, “A special word of thanks to Cllr Catherine Slattery for officially opening the event, and to Seamus McNamara, Chairman of the Limerick County Board, for attending and showing his support. We’d also like to thank Jackie Leonard from NOVAS for being part of the night and helping highlight the importance of the cause.”

The group also extended their gratitude to Team Flag Ireland, who made a generous donation toward the raffle, which “added great excitement on the night and helped boost our fundraising efforts”.

They said, “Finally, sincere thanks to the Old Christians club members who put in serious work behind the scenes and throughout the week: Shane Gorey, Jonathan Hanrahan, Donnacha O’Grady, Gary Culbert, Niall Deegan, Phil Madden, Noleen Clancy, and Denise Deegan. Your effort and commitment made all the difference.

“Thanks again to everyone who played a part, bought raffle tickets, or simply turned up to support.”

All funds raised go directly to NOVAS, helping those most in need in the Limerick community.
