Limerick Comedy Festival brings two nights of big laughs from 12 acts to The Old Quarter on Thursday, 24 and Friday, 26 September

The Limerick Comedy Festival promises three nights of big laughs at The Old Quarter as 12 acts take to the stage on Thursday, September 24 and Friday, September 25.
The festival will make Limerick City a hotspot of comedic genius, with acts performing across a number of venues throughout the city for the 2026 edition of the festival, which runs for four days.
For The Old Quarter, the comedy begins on Thursday, September 24, with John O’Keefe headlining the opening show at the bar on Little Ellen Street.

Mick Peril (MC) regularly gigs on the Irish comedy circuit and has gigged throughout Sweden and the UK. Known for his edgy one-liners and dark style with lots of audience interaction often described as the joke machine with a trigger finger.
The two are joined by Ciara Kelleher, Seamus Lehane, John Mulligan, Sean Ryan, and Robbie O’Donnell on the evening, with the show getting underway from 8:15 pm.
On Friday, September 25, Mike Morgan will headline the venue as the festival continues across Limerick city.

Mike Morgan (Headliner): Multi-award-winning comedian & TikTok sensation Mike Morgan is a Cork-based comedian who has recently won Show Me The Funny & CoCo Clubs Comedian of the Year. This is an act you don’t want to miss! Sean Marshall (MC) is a stand-up comedian who has gigged extensively across Ireland as well as in Northern Ireland, the UK and Sweden, and has brought four successful solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe.
Mike is joined by Sean Marshall (MC), Harry Cloney, Rory Connolly, and Sean Lawlor, with the gig getting underway from 8:30 pm.
The festival is being organised by John Mulligan, founder of Four Corners Comedy Club, who has been at the heart of Limerick’s growing comedy scene for several years.
John established Four Corners Comedy Club in 2019 with the aim of creating more opportunities for comedians to perform in Limerick, particularly for new performers looking for their first chance to take to the stage. Since then, the club has grown into a regular part of the city’s comedy scene, bringing both established acts and emerging comedians to venues across Limerick.
A key supporter of Four Corners Comedy Club has been JJ Mulcahy, proprietor of The Old Quarter, who has been a strong advocate for the club and for the development of live comedy in Limerick. His support and collaborative efforts with John Mulligan have played an important role in helping bring the inaugural Limerick Comedy Festival to life. Together, they have worked to create a festival that celebrates comedy, supports performers and showcases the vibrant hospitality and entertainment scene that Limerick has to offer.
The festival organisers also acknowledge the support of Limerick City and County Council, particularly their engagement with and support for the city’s pub and hospitality trade. At a time when the sector continues to face challenging circumstances, the willingness to support innovation and new ideas that bring people into the city centre is greatly appreciated.
