Limerick’s leading geek culture convention Omnicon 2018 is coming up

Omnicon is Limerick’s leading geek culture convention that is taking place in the Great National South Court Hotel on August 25.

Omnicon 2018 is returning for its second year and it is even bigger and better than before- Console Games, Cosplay, Board Games, Sci-fi, Comics, Manga, Panels, Workshops, Trade Hall; Omnicon has it all.  With a new date and a new venue, Omnicon promises to be a great event that is suitable for all ages.

Omnicon’s trade hall will be packed with traders and artists from across the country that will come together to sell their geeky wares. The 501st Legion and Heroes Unite Ireland will be set up at the event, showing off their screen accurate Star Wars costumes and their top-class costumes from popular TV and movie franchises such as Marvel and Judge Dredd.

Omnicon’s Gaming Room will have consoles set up for various tournaments and free-play and also a free-play board game area, amongst other activities. Spraoi VR will be setting up their virtual reality rig, Lim Brick City will be running a small Lego area for those that love to build and that is not all; We will have various panels taking place throughout the day along with SFX make-up and effects demos and an infinity stone treasure hunt.

For all the cosplayers/costume enthusiasts out there, Omnicon 2018 will host a cosplay masquerade where cosplayers and costume enthusiasts come together to compete and show off their wonderful costumes.

Early bird online tickets are just €12.50 per adult ticket (children under 12 will have free entry when accompanied by an adult ticket holder) and will be €15.00 on the door. For early bird tickets visit Omnicon’s website www.omniconireland.com/tickets.html.

Every online ticket purchased will be entered into their ticket holder raffle that will be drawn on the day.
