One Fómhar D’Road comes to Nicholas Street each weekend this August for live entertainment, food and family-friendly events
The One Fómhar D’Road Festival comes to Limerick’s Medieval Quarter this August, bringing Limerick’s Medieval Quarter to life with live entertainment, food, and events each weekend, with a road closure creating a family-friendly space.
Road closures will be in place every Saturday and Sunday on Nicholas Street from 10 am to 10 pm, allowing visitors to enjoy the festival atmosphere outside Treaty City Brewery and along the historic street leading to King John’s Castle.
Speaking with I Love Limerick, Treaty City Brewery founder Steve Cuneen, said, “On the back of the fantastic festivals that we had at Christmas and the May Bank Holiday weekend and St Patrick’s weekend, the road closures granted to us by the Limerick City and County Council have been fantastic because it allows us to bring all of our brilliant events and our brilliant food and debauchery and merriment out onto the streets.”

Throughout the month, the brewery will bring seating, a full outdoor bar and food onto the street, creating what Steve describes as a large beer garden, to Limerick’s historical street.
Visitors can also look forward to a varied programme of entertainment, including Féile an Gréine in August, while the brewery’s popular Sunday jazz sessions will move outdoors from 3 pm to 7 pm each week.
“This weekend and every weekend for the month of August, we are going to be dressing the street. We’re gonna have a beer garden out here behind us, we will have a full bar outside,” said Steve before announcing the return of a fan-favourite special sandwich, “Our fantastic toastie, which was a special our last May Bank Holiday weekend, is after making a permanent return!
“It is a beef brisket, called ‘We Got Beef.’ The brisket comes from O’Loughlin’s at the top of William Street, and it’s braised in our Sarsfield Stout. We add some smoked cheddar and toast to perfection like our other famous toasties, so we have an absolutely amazing toastie and food!”
Treaty City Brewery will also unveil a newly built DJ booth, created using a vintage piano and a 17th-century dresser, with vinyl DJs providing music throughout the festival weekends, and organisers are encouraging families, music lovers and visitors to make the most of the final month of summer by enjoying the family-friendly festivities at One Fómhar D’Road.
Steve called everyone to enjoy the events, saying, “ If you’re out there, you’re looking for something to do, come up here to Treaty City, get some good food, some great times, and some debauchery and merriment.
“We have family-friendly events, and if you’re looking for good music, all through August weekends we’re going to have music and jazz outside is gonna be fantastic as well.”
