Public Consultation on Options Report for the Arthur’s Quay Framework Plan

Options Report for public consultation developed as the next step in the preparation of the Arthur’s Quay Framework Plan

Limerick City and County Council in collaboration with Metropolitan Workshop has developed an Options Report for public consultation, as the next key step in the preparation of the Arthur’s Quay Framework Plan.

The Framework Plan forms part of the World Class Waterfront project, funded through the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund, and will provide a comprehensive place-based approach for the redevelopment of the area, to encourage and guide site activation for public and private mixed-use developments, and for capital investment in public realm to create an exemplar waterside destination and amenity.

The Options Report will be published on the Council’s website on Friday, 4th October 2024 and submissions will be invited up to Friday, 1st November, 2024. The Council and Metropolitan Workshop will host a drop-in public consultation event to take place on Thursday, 17th October from 1pm-7pm at the Citizen Innovation Lab in UL City Centre Campus, Sarsfield Street, V94 DW21.

Welcoming the publication of the Options Report, Mayor of Limerick John Moran, said, “Our Waterfront is one of Limerick City’s most important assets and harnessing, protecting and enhancing this natural public amenity is a central element of the Mayoral Programme and the ambition to create a more liveable, prosperous and healthy city.  

“This Option report is a key milestone in the plan-making process, where we are inviting the citizens of Limerick to have their say on how this area should be developed in the public interest and for future generations to enjoy.”

Vincent Murray, Director of Planning and Place-Making with Limerick City and County Council said, “The Council and Metropolitan Workshop have taken a comprehensive evidence-based approach in the preparation of this report, following consultation and engagement with the landowners and stakeholders of the city. The Council is seeking to develop a framework that is ambitious and deliverable. We look forward to the input from residents and businesses in the city and beyond over the public consultation period”
