It’s that time of year again. The 2025 Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival returns for a 15th iteration this April with its most comprehensive line-up of events to date. Taking place from Monday 7th to Sunday 13th April, this year’s festival theme is “Literacies for Life”. It features over 120 free events and activities to choose from throughout the week both online and in-person. The 2025 festival presents a wide variety of interesting and diverse topics that include Art, IT Skills, Language Tasters, Entrepreneurship, Guided Tours, Open Days, Educational Pathways, Dance, Music, Cookery, Wellbeing and much more. A host of much-loved teddy bears got stitched up and received some tender medical care at University of LimerickÕs Teddy Bear Hospital. Almost 900 children from across Limerick, Clare and Tipperary brought their favourite teddies for a check-up at ULÕs annual Teddy Bear Hospital. Organised by students of ULÕs School of Medicine, the Teddy Bear Hospital offers children typically aged between four and six the chance to engage with medical students in a fun setting aimed at alleviating childhood anxiety about medical environments. A University of Limerick research project examining e-bike use has found that a considerable percentage of those who took part in a study would be willing to purchase their own bike. Milford National School pupils Edie Hogan, Carrie Green and Molly O’Regan at the launch of the second phase. ISCycle (Inclusive e-bike uptake and Sustainable use) is an innovative UL-led research project examining how e-bikes can change transport behaviours to improve health and protect the environment.
