A major new housing development in Patrickswell has officially launched and will facilitate the delivery of almost 400 new homes

Fitzpatrick & Heavey Group‘s major new housing development in Patrickswell Strategic land acquisition has been officially launched and will facilitate the delivery of almost 400 new homes in Patrickswell.
The launch of the new housing development marks a significant milestone in the delivery of much-needed housing across the region.
The launch coincides with Fitzpatrick & Heavey Group’s acquisition of a significant residential development opportunity that has the potential to deliver close to 400 high-quality homes, creating one of the most significant new residential communities in the Limerick region.
The land has immediate full planning permission for 105 new homes, with the wider landholding including zoned residential lands capable of delivering a further 80 homes, together with an adjacent land bank with the potential to accommodate another 180 homes.
Launching the development, Mayor of Limerick John Moran said the beginning of the project marks “an important step forward in delivering the homes that Limerick needs”.
He added, “Every new housing development helps us meet growing demand, and I look forward to seeing these homes delivered in Patrickswell. I hope this is the first of many successful projects the company will deliver across Limerick.”
Commenting on the acquisition, Ciaran Fitzpatrick, CEO at Fitzpatrick & Heavey Group, said the development is an “exceptional opportunity to create a vibrant new residential community” in the area.
Mr Fitzpatrick added, “The combination of existing planning permission, additional zoned lands and future development potential gives us a unique platform to deliver close to 400 homes over the coming years.

“Patrickswell’s proximity to Raheen, strong transport links and new hospital make it an ideal location for families, professionals and first-time buyers. We are excited to play a role in supporting the continued growth of the region and helping to address housing demand in Limerick.”
Located just minutes from Raheen, one of the largest employment hubs in the Mid-West, the site benefits from excellent connectivity and proximity to major employers, educational facilities and local amenities. The development is also strategically positioned near the new hospital facility in Limerick, further enhancing the long-term attractiveness and importance of the location.
The initial phase of 105 homes will form the foundation of a long-term development strategy for the site, with further phases progressing in line with planning and infrastructure requirements.
This investment reflects Fitzpatrick and Heavey Group’s confidence in the continued growth of the Mid-West region and its commitment to delivering sustainable, high-quality residential developments in locations where people want to live, work, and raise families.
