Faura, born in Barcelona in 1980, graduated from the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam in 2006. Faura’s work is based on the appropriation of elements of pop culture, such as striptease, disco and musicals.

He remixes these elements into a new multidisciplinary choreography combining all the elements of the theatrical convention. He’s also involved in programming activities and designing new contexts for artistic exhibitions. Pere Faura is an Aerowaves Twenty 16 artist.

What do you think you’ll see at a show called Striptease? Part performance, part lecture, Faura plays with our expectations and perceptions in this witty and provocative exposé of the mechanisms of desire and seduction. Cleverly mixing dance, theatre and video elements he delves into the relationship between the performer and the spectator in this critique of the male gaze.’

Dance Limerick opened in October 2013 as a centre for professional dance and to promote dance in Limerick and beyond.  Through a programme of performances, artist residencies, classes, talks and workshops, Dance Limerick provides opportunities for dance to be created, experienced and discussed in many ways, by all ages.
