Pictured at the West Door of the Cathedral, Kieran Goodisson & Terry Logan from Limerick Marine Search & Rescue, Rev’d Paul Fitzpatrick from Saint Mary’s Cathedral and Úna Burns and Sinéad Carey from Novas Limerick- all thrilled to be a part of such an amazing project.

Limerick Novas is a voluntary organisation that works with those who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. This often involves single adults, families and children who are disadvantaged and socially excluded and is dealt with by providing social housing for low-income families and single adults.

Limerick Novas believes, “everyone is entitled to a home”.

Limerick Marine Search and Rescue was established in 1986 and is comprised of a group of 26 volunteers who dedicate their time to help keep the people of Limerick safe in unpredictable waters.

The organisation was originally set up by two local sports divers, Jimmy Connors and Tony Cusack who at the time were asked to help search for the body of a young diver who had lost his life in the waters of Parteen. This experience prompted the two men to create an organisation that would protect the waters of Limerick all year long, and so Limerick Marine Search and Rescue was born.

Saint Marys Cathedral said, “Saint Mary’s Cathedral is delighted and thrilled to be able to welcome Mr Phil Coulter to Limerick and all in the aid of a good cause. We look forward to the event, in what we expect to be a great start to the Christmas Season”

The event in aid of these two deserving charities will take place Sunday, December 8 at 8 pm in Saint Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick and is €35 a ticket (€30 concession).
