Local Limerick Business Phils Bookshop Celebrates 10th Birthday

Phils Bookshop, located on 14 Anne Street, celebrates 10 years in business on September 30th. Tucked away beside Thomas Street, Phil has sold thousands of pre-loved books and many customers rely on all her personal recommendations, as well as hunting down rare and out-of-print books.

For four days only, Phils Bookshop is holding a special 20% off sale on all books, from September 28th to October 1st. The fun continues with free treats and cake in-store and book giveaways on Facebook during the week of celebrations. All visitors who buy a book during the sale week will be entered into a prize draw to win book vouchers for Phils Bookshop.

On social Media, the bookshop updates their audience with what has come in and has received rare editions of popular books and even books from famous authors that they have never heard of. They also link trailers for movies coming out which are originally books. The Facebook page is incredibly interactive with its costumers and cater to any enquiries that the costumer may have.

Phil Golez, Manager of the shop, says: “I worked in Tony Clarke’s Bookshop for years, and when it closed suddenly in 2006, it was a make-or-break moment. With the support of family and friends I opened Phils Bookshop two weeks later. I’ve sold books for almost twenty years and I still love discovering new writers and stories to share with my customers.”
