Limerick City Community Radio receives 100-day pilot sound broadcasting licence beginning Saturday, January 17

Limerick City Community Radio has been informed by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland that it has been granted another 100-day pilot sound broadcasting licence to commence on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
Limerick City Community Radio is Limerick City’s first and only non-profit community station that is entirely community-run through volunteers.
While the team is delighted with the announcement and looks forward to entertaining and informing the Limerick listeners once again in 2026, they will re-commence broadcasting on Saturday, January 17 on 92fm.
As well as the weekend FM service, they also run an online service Monday – Friday with live programmes from 8 am to 6 pm, with repeats of weekend shows from 6 pm. For more information on the line-up, see www.lccr.ie
The group is also open to applications for volunteers who wish to get involved and can apply by email at [email protected]
The station is licensed by Coimisiún na Meán on 92FM at weekends from January to December, and has now been on-air for a decade.
The output of the station, under the terms of our broadcasting license, is mainly talk-based with an emphasis on local news and community affairs.
The group also aims to support local organisations, saying, “We are constantly looking to expand our coverage of local initiatives and voluntary organisations, so if you are involved in a community organisation and wish to highlight and promote your activities, get in touch today!”
