Castle Oaks House Hotel are set to host a 24-hour “Pink Padel Marathon” in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland on Saturday, June 13

The 24-hour event will also mark the official opening of the new padel courts at Castle Oaks House Hotel

Castle Oaks House Hotel is set to host a major 24-hour charity sporting event next month as it officially launches its new padel courts with a “Pink Padel Marathon” in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland.

The event will begin at 8 am on Saturday, June 13 and continue through until 8 am on Sunday morning, with players taking to the courts around the clock in support of breast cancer awareness and fundraising efforts. Organisers are aiming to recruit 96 participants to each take part in one-hour playing slots across the 24-hour marathon, with all proceeds from the €10 participation fee going directly to Breast Cancer Ireland.

The 24-hour event will also mark the official opening of the new padel courts at Castle Oaks House Hotel, reflecting the continued growth in popularity of the sport across Ireland and the wider region.

A number of local personalities, businesses and community supporters are expected to take part throughout the event, with All-Ireland-winning Limerick captain Declan Hannon among the first well-known names confirmed to participate.

The event will also include a BBQ during the afternoon, a beer tent, DJ entertainment and a range of spot prizes across the 24 hours, creating what organisers hope will be a fun and family-friendly atmosphere for participants and spectators alike.

Additional donations will also be accepted throughout the event, with charity collection points available onsite during the 24-hour marathon.

Só Hotels Regional Manager Robert Byrne said the team wanted to officially launch the new facilities in a way that would also benefit an important cause.

“We wanted to officially launch the courts in a way that would bring people together for a positive and worthwhile cause,” he said.

“Breast Cancer Ireland carries out hugely important work and we are delighted to support the charity through what we hope will become a memorable and enjoyable community event.”

The team at the Castle Oaks House Hotel will begin promoting the marathon across social media and local businesses in the coming weeks, with participants of all levels encouraged to get involved.

Additional donations will also be accepted throughout the event, with charity collection points available onsite during the 24-hour marathon.
