We filmed the Pink Ribbon Walk in Killaloe and it was an amazing experience seeing 700 people walking in unity. The walk is a national fundraising movement, organising sponsored charity walks in locations around the country in aid of Action Breast Cancer, a programme of the Irish Cancer Society. The walk empowers individuals and communities to increase breast cancer awareness, promote healthy living and raise funds through a fun and rewarding experience. In 2009, a group of determined, resourceful Kells, Co Meath women, some of whom had been affected by breast cancer themselves, decided to organise a sponsored walk to raise money for Action Breast Cancer and a national movement was born. Since then, the Pink Ribbon Walk has gone from strength to strength. Kells has been joined by the Killaloe Pink Ribbon Walk in 2010 and the inaugural Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk in 2012. To date, Pink Ribbon Walks around Ireland have raised over €470,000 to support people who are battling breast cancer. For further info go to www.killlaloepinkribbonwalk.com.

Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
