Children attend for free and adult tickets are €5/person and €8/couple.

The Limerick Strand Hotel will be buzzing come March 24 when the very first Pregnancy and Parenting Expo takes place. The event, which runs from 10 am to 4 pm, is designed to bring family-focused businesses, service providers and community resources all under one roof. This is the first large event of its kind taking place in Limerick, with other large expos mostly in the Cork and Dublin areas.

Michelle Mayefske, the owner of Limerick Doula Services and expo host states, “This event is very needed in the community. Almost 4500 babies were born in the University Maternity Hospital in Limerick last year, making it the second busiest hospital in the country! That’s so many families that will benefit from an event where they can easily gain information, meet service providers and shop for their baby or older children”.

The event will feature over thirty exhibitors all focused around pregnancy and early parenting. Michelle states, “We have a great mix, really! There has been amazing interest in the expo since the very beginning and a wait list of vendors has started! We have businesses local to Limerick attending as well as those that cover the entire country.” Some families may attend the event looking to meet local professionals like a lactation consultant, birth doula, baby massage instructor, and more while others may approach the day looking to shop to their heart’s content. The impressive list of vendors has products geared for pregnancy all the way to primary school-aged children.

It is clear that there is a real family focus for this event with multiple activities planned for kids including face painting, balloon animals, hair braiding, crafts and a Silly Selfie Booth. Children also attend for free with a paying adult ticket at €5/person and €8/couple. Tickets for the event can be purchased at the door or via Eventbrite

Any businesses looking to become a sponsor or join the expo vendor wait list can do so through their website at https://pregnancyandparentingexpo.ie/
