After a hugely successful critically acclaimed run at the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival last week, Bottom Dog Theatre Company is delighted to announce the return to Limerick of their production of Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens. Written by Bill Russell and Janet Hood, the crically acclaimed Elegies features songs and monologues inspired by the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt, written from the perspective of characters who have died from AIDS and their friends and family members dealing with the loss. Elegies was produced first at the Ohio Theatre in Soho in New York City in 1989 and has subsequently been performed regularly across the world. Myles Breen directs Ireland’s first production for Bottom Dog with musical direction by Noel Lennon of Music Theatre West. The cast features some of Limerick’s finest West End singers including Liam O Brien and Brian McCann. A huge ensemble of actors complete the cast including Zeb Moore, Ann Blake, Shane Whisker and Darren Shine & Richard Lynch. For more information go to www.facebook.com/bottomdogtheatre.
