rainbow ball red carpet 071The colourful and vibrant Rainbow Ball took place Saturday November 16 at The Clarion Hotel. Starting at 7.30pm with a champagne reception with music from John Frawley followed by a 4 course meal and a charity raffle with some incredible prizes! The glitz and glamour night featured live music from Overdrive followed by a DJ with all money from the night going to Friends of the Elderly, Limerick. The primary aim of the group is to give elderly people a better social life to prevent them from being isolated in this high tech world. ‘Many elderly people in Limerick have absolutely no visitors and are all alone. No-one deserves to live like that’, says Junior Cosgrave, the Chairperson of the group tells me, ‘We are delighted that the Rainbow Ball is in our honour this year’. Organiser of the ball Paddy Doyle thinks it’s very important to support local causes saying “Following the success of last year’s ball, we are delighted to be running this fantastic event and helping towards such a great cause, the people in Limerick are great to support local events.”

So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
