Rape Crisis Midwest was founded in 1980 by a group of men and women who noticed the lack of support services available to survivors of sexual abuse and rape. Since then, Rape Crisis Midwest have worked tirelessly to provide comprehensive information, professional support and quality and confidential counselling service to those who need it.

Rape Crisis Midwest are committed to using your donations to help heal the lives of men and women in the Midwest who have survived childhood sexual abuse and recent rape or sexual assault.

Rape Crisis Midwest’s vision is a society where all adults and children can live freely of all forms of sexual violence.

Myles Breen, actor and one of Limerick’s most recognisable faces, will be MCing at the quiz. The Limerick legend was the presenter for the quiz in 2019 and is no stranger to getting involved in charitable work around the county.

Miriam Duffy, Executive Director of Rape Crisis Midwest said, “Without the support of the people and business community in Limerick, Rape Crisis Midwest would not be able to continue to provide this much-needed service which we have been doing for almost 40 years. On behalf of the people who use our service, we would like to thank everyone who continues to support us.”

Verena Trapey of Rape Crisis Midwest said, “Demand for our services in the Midwest remains at an all-time high. During the pandemic, we experienced an unprecedented number of calls to our centre. In 2021, we offered 4,035 hours of counselling and 1,535 helpline calls. Our services are open to men and women who have experienced any form of sexual violence, rape, childhood sexual abuse.”

Doors open at 7pm and the quiz will commence at 8pm. It costs €40 to book a table of four, and each team will have a chance of winning prize money worth €500 at the end of the night. The quiz includes 8 categories of trivia questions. Rape Crisis Midwest are reaching out to families, organisations, clubs, and societies to join on the night and take part.
