Members of the public are invited to the Rape Crisis Midwest information evening on Wednesday, October 12 from 6.30 pm. The evening is aimed towards anybody who may be interested in volunteering in any of the Rape Crisis Midwest centres across the Midwest region.

The Rape Crisis Midwest information evening will be held in the Limerick centre situated in Phoenix House, Punches Close, Rosbrien Road, Limerick. This  evening offers a great opportunity to see centre and facilities offered by the foundation and the chance to learn more about the work and services the foundation provides as well as meeting new friends  involved in Rape Crisis Midwest.

Volunteers with Rape Crisis Midwest are provided with the opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills through training and are given the chance to make a difference in a person’s life.

The Limerick Centre was founded in 1980 as Limerick Rape Crisis Centre, by a group of women and men who were concerned about the lack of services for survivors of rape and sexual abuse. Since then it has worked to provide comprehensive information, professional support and a quality counselling service for survivors of sexual abuse and violence throughout the Midwest region.

With centres based in Limerick, Nenagh and Ennis, Rape Crisis Midwest is a regional organisation serving Limerick, Clare and Tipperary. The organisation provides support and counselling to men and women who were sexually abused as children or recently raped/sexually assaulted.

In addition, Rape Crisis Midwest provide Garda and Court accompaniment as well as training and education programmes. They rely heavily on volunteers to deliver the services and encourage anyone interested, to attend the evening.

Rape Crisis Midwest ask that those attending the event email Tracey to confirm attendance or if you require further information you can email here.
