Rape Crisis Midwest Volunteer Information Evening

Do you want to meet new people, gain invaluable skills and make a real difference to the lives of men and women who have been raped or sexually abused? If so then come along to Rape Crisis Midwest Volunteer Information Evening in our centre on Wednesday February 24 from 6pm to 7:30pm to learn all about joining our team!

RCMlogo_400x400Rape Crisis Midwest was founded in 1980 and we provide support and counselling services throughout the Midwest region for survivors of recent rape and sexual violence, as well as of childhood sexual abuse. Funding is an ongoing concern and the maintenance of these vital services would not be possible without the help of dedicated volunteers so we are now looking for more people to get on board!

This information evening will be relaxed and informal, while providing an excellent opportunity for potential volunteers to learn about all of the roles and training opportunities available at Rape Crisis Midwest. It will afford newcomers a chance to meet with current volunteers and staff who will be able to give them a more personal perspective on the experience of working with Rape Crisis Midwest.

As there are a wide variety of volunteer opportunities, there will be something to suit everyone! The evening will provide information on SATU (Sexual Assault Treatment Unit) support work, volunteer counselling, court/ Garda accompaniments, as well as the support that may be provided should a volunteer wish to organise his or her own event. We are also always looking for volunteers to work on various event committees.

So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
