The Greenway Community Funday on Sunday September 5 was held in the park next to the historic Augustinian Abbey. It featured music, food, games, competitions, spot prizes as well as a market.

“The Funday fundraiser welcomed a capacity crowd to the Rathkeale park and was made possible by over 40 volunteers working alongside Team Rathkeale and the Rathkeale Community Council,” said Derek Downes, Chairperson of the Team Rathkeale business group.

“We plan to use some funds to improve our new outdoor area for the kids,” said Noel White, Chairperson of the Butterfly Club.

Based in Rathkeale, the Butterfly Club is a totally voluntary run social club that provides leisure activities in a safe, fun filled environment for children and young adults with special needs while providing respite for parents and guardians. They have a great mix of volunteers and invite students and adults to apply using the form on their website at thebutterflyclub.ie.
