Richard Harris International Film Festival 2018 calls for Submissions, announces Spring Screenings

The 6th Annual Richard Harris International Film Festival 2018 will take place in Limerick and will be a 5-day event over the Bank Holiday weekend October 25 – 29. Submissions for the festival are open as of February 1, 2018, and will close on August 18.

The Richard Harris International Film Festival 2018 offers a number of categories and awards. Categories include Feature Film Competition, Self-Tape Competition, and a Sports Documentary Competition. The Richard Harris International Film Festival 2018 Short Film competition will be split into three categories – National/International Short Film, Newport Beach Short Film and Student Short Film. The Midwest Award will be chosen from the submissions to all three short film categories.

In addition to the Richard Harris International Film Festival 2018 screenings in October, the festival will also host two screenings in Spring.

The first Spring screening will take place on Monday, February 26 and will be an entertaining evening of short films selected from the 2017 festival favourites. The screening, in association with Limerick City & County Council and UCH, will take place at the University Concert Hall. Short Films screened will include ‘Lost Memories’, directed by Eamonn Murphy and ‘Kubrick by Candlelight’, directed by David O’Reilly. Tickets are available from the UCH website for €5 and from the UCH box office for €6/€7.50.

The second Spring screening will take place on Thursday, March 8 and will showcase Women in Film. The screening, in association with Limerick City and County Council & Friars Gate Theatre, will take place in Friars Gate Theatre. Films screened will include ‘Lula’, directed by Aoife O’Kelly and ‘Native’ directed by Linda Bhreathnach.  More information is available on the Friars Gate website.

Established in 2013, the Richard Harris International Film Festival has grown impeccably since then. The Irish Film & Television Academy Affiliated International Film Festival is located in Limerick, Ireland and screened over 115 films at the 2017 festival.

The 6th Annual Richard Harris International Film Festival 2018 will take place in Limerick over the Bank Holiday weekend October 25 – 29, 2018. Submissions for the festival are open as of February 1, 2018, and will close on August 18, 2018. Submissions can be made here.
