Following on from last years successful Lend Me a Tenor show by the College Players, they are back again this season at the Lime Theatre with another hilarious comedy The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. Directed by Michael Finneran this award winning comedy is a modern day fairy tale and runs from Tuesday 11th of November to Saturday 15th of November. Shows run each night from 8pm.

Set in a working class street, it tells the story of a shy reclusive girl and her larger than life mother. The girl, known as Little Voice, remains cocooned in her bedroom listening to her record collection. Little Voice sings along with the records and we discover that she has a wonderful talent of impersonation famous divas like Judy Garland, Shirley Bassey, Cilla Black, Dolly Parton, Marilyn Munroe and Gracie Fields.

Enter her mother’s latest boyfriend, a failing impressario and the story takes off! But what does Little Voice want?

This stellar cast of amazingly talented performers includes Jean McGlynn, Mary O’Sullivan, Nigel Dugdale, Brian McNamara, Dave Griffin and Rebecca Murphy. This show is not to be missed and is sure to have you in stitches of laughter!

College Players is Limerick’s oldest theatre company. The College Players were founded in 1926 when a group of past pupils from the old St Munchin’s College, situated at that time in Henry Street Limerick, decided to form their own amateur dramatic society. They took the name “College Players” and that name has stayed with us to this day.
