I Love Limerick’s Richard Lynch has taken a proactive approach to skin health with a visit to The Rose Clinic at  Beacon Limerick, Barrington Street for a comprehensive mole screening, highlighting the importance of regular skin checks to detect potential skin cancer early.

During the visit, nurse melanographer Stephanie conducted a head-to-toe examination using advanced imaging technology, including a dermatoscope to magnify and analyse skin lesions.

Richard documents his visit where he shared his concerns about a sunspot that had changed shape, which can be a warning sign for potential skin cancer. Stephanie reassured him, explaining the process of identifying and monitoring moles and spots that might require further attention.

The clinic emphasized the importance of monitoring moles in less visible areas, such as the soles of the feet or under nails, which can go unnoticed, Richard was surprised to learn about a mole on his foot that he had never noticed before, a common oversight that underscores the value of professional screenings.
