The 5K route will see participants make their way from the Kilfinane Road to Main Street, while the 10k route offers a more demanding challenge through the surrounding countryside.

Rua Running Club said, “ Entry for the 5 and 10K is just 10 euros. It’ll be a chipped and timed event, and we’ve also got a family walk 5K on the day. For everyone who turns up and takes part, finishes the race, we’ve got a bespoke finisher medal.

“You’ll do very well to find a 10K event in Ireland in 2026 that’s chipped and timed and is offering a medal for each person who finishes for just 10 euros. But we can do it because it’s all in aid of the Irish Cancer Society, and we’ve got fantastic sponsorship from Peak 100 Coffee on the main street here in Ballylanders and, of course, from Dan and the team in Aracus Insurance in Tipperary Town.”

The organisers have also assured participants that “every cent” raised through the event will go directly to Irish Cancer Society. Irish Cancer Society are a community of patients, survivors, volunteers, supporters, health and social care professionals and researchers. They are working towards a future where nobody in Ireland will die from cancer.

Tickets for the event are selling fast with more than 80 per cent of palces filled, with the event quickly approaching, booking is advised.
