Launching today at Limerick Chamber of Commerce Carl Widger, Metis Ireland MD said ‘This is a fun run with a serious focus, we’re challenging the business community in Limerick to come out of their offices and support this event. The work that Cliona’s Foundation do is so important and all of the money raised in entry fees will go directly to helping families who need the support so badly. While raising awareness for the work that Cliona’s Foundation do, we also hope to create a novel networking opportunity for everyone involved in business in Limerick”

Stephen Keogh, Managing Partner at MHP Sellors commented “Swap the evening commute for a cause. On 11th September, we’re calling on every Limerick business—start‑ups, multinationals and everything in between—to lace up, cross Shannon Bridge and turn 5 km of after‑work fun into life‑changing support for the families Cliona’s Foundation serves. Run, walk or crawl — just show up. And if you can’t make the start line, cover your team’s entry or chip in. Every stride, every euro, makes a difference”

Cliona’s Foundation is delighted to be a beneficiary of this event as they expect another year of increasing applications from families all over the Country. “This was a wonderful event last year and we are so grateful to both Metis Ireland and MHP Sellors for their support & generosity in organising & sponsoring the run, and their commitment to making a difference to others” said Brendan Ring CEO & Founder of Cliona’s.

“In the absence of any government funding these fundraising events are a lifeline to us. This year to date we have provided support in the amount of €237,500 to 95 families across 27 Counties and are projecting the same again for the 2nd half of the year. These families are struggling emotionally & financially with their child’s diagnosis & treatment and need support,” Said Brendan.

He continued, “The sponsorship by both these wonderful organisations ensures that 100% of the proceeds will go towards making a real difference and we would love to see the Limerick business community come on board & be part of something special!
