Bon Secours kids ‘Run For Fun’ returns for 2023 this April 29 at University of Limerick

Bon Secours Hospital Limerick sponsors Limerick’s largest children’s fun run, ‘Run for Fun 2023’

Bon Secours Hospital Limerick at Barrington’s are delighted to announce the return of the “Run for Fun” Limerick’s largest children’s fun run, and its continued sponsorship of this fantastic event.

The Run for Fun will take place at the University of Limerick on Saturday 29th of April and will see hundreds of national school children take part. Run for Fun 2023 is non-competitive event for children (5-13 years) across multiple distances and suitable for all standards. The first wave starts at 2.30pm with the wheelchair event on the UL running track. All registered children will receive a specially commissioned finishers medal and a souvenir technical t-shirt.

Sarah O’Sullivan CEO Bon Secours Hospital Limerick stated “We are absolutely delighted to be associated with such a great event. As a healthcare provider we are keen to promote healthy activity amongst the people of the Mid-West. Introducing non-competitive fun activities such as the ‘Run for Fun’ at an early stage in children’s lives can have such a positive outcome to their wellbeing, confidence and their development.

Once again, we’re delighted to be on board and look forward to being there with our team on the day to support the children and their parents and also see the smiles on their faces as they cross the finish line.”

It is a fantastic means of integrating children in the festivities of the May Bank Holiday weekend and we are really looking forward to witnessing the excitement on the starting line!”

Registration is now open on https://greatlimerickrun.com with a limit number of places available in each wave. Limerick GAA have promised that the Liam McCarthy trophy will be in attendance once again this year, so do not miss out on the chance to get your photo taken with it! We look forward to another successful event at the impressive UL Arena on the 29th of April with thanks to the assistance of the Limerick Sports Partnership.
