Team Europe will return to Adare Manor in 2027 to defend their Ryder Cup victory at Bethpage Black, and Adare village got buzzing with a community event, getting celebrations underway

The golfing world had eyes glued to New York for the final day of the 2025 Ryder Cup, where Europe successfully defended its title, ensuring it comes to Adare Manor as champions for the 2027 Ryder Cup.
As the final day of games unfolded, Adare village was experiencing some of the fun the Ryder Cup will offer as a community engagement event swept over the Limerick village.
As part of the final day, the golden putter was presented to Adare Manor in New York, which symbolises the official handover of the competition, which will be its 100th anniversary of the historic competition.
The people of Limerick and visitors to the Treaty County will have recently noticed new road signs in Adare and Ballyneety, celebrating their roles as hosts of the 2027 Ryder Cup and Junior Ryder Cup, respectively.
People visiting Adare Village Hall and other tourist locations such as King John’s Castle, will see giant golf ball installations with a three metre ball at Adare Village Hall for one week, and a seven metre ball at King John’s Castle.
Displays will also include logo projections on the external walls of King John’s Castle; bunting, banners, and flags in Adare and Ballyneety; flags at Council buildings and across Limerick City bridges; and banners on Limerick city centre streets.
These striking installations are designed to capture attention both locally and globally, as millions of viewers tune in to the Ryder Cup and the symbolic handover to Limerick, Ireland.
On Sunday, September 28, Adare village had a party atmosphere as the public could take part in events uch a “Ryder Cup Stars of the Future” competition for children at the Adare Pitch and Putt course, searching for the next generation of golfing talent; Limerick GAA stars traded their hurlies for golf clubs to play the Bethpage course on a state-of-the-art Golf Ireland simulator; and Adare’s Main Street wasl alive with street entertainment, including stilt walkers, face painting, and balloon art.

Following the Team Europe Victory, Irish golfer Shane Lowry said he is looking forward to the “incredible” prospect of playing the Ryder Cup 2027 on home soil. He said, “ Obviously, to compete in Adare Manor as well will be, will be incredible.”
Tourism Ireland has been working hard to leverage the tourism potential of Ryder Cup 2027 and is now gearing up to maximise the opportunity this global sporting occasion presents over the coming two years.
From Tourism Ireland’s collaboration with Ryder Cup Europe, which includes the creation of a new 90-second video, to its presence at major golf tournaments and events, extensive publicity, TV, digital and social media promotions and partnerships with international golf tour operators, the organisation is working hard to inspire golfers around the world to choose the island of Ireland for their next golf holiday.

We are also highlighting the fact that the 2026 Walker Cup is set to take place at Lahinch Golf Club and the 2026 Irish Open will take place at Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg.”
