Join Saint Mary’s Cathedral virtually every Tuesday in February for their Lunchtime Lecture Series. The series begins on Tuesday, February 2 and continues for four weeks until Tuesday, February 23.
Each week will have a different speaker who will share the life and times of people like Maureen O Hara and Napoleon Bonaparte. They will begin at 1.15 pm and will take about forty-five minutes each.
WEEK ONE – TUESDAY 2ND FEBRUARY 2021

For our first week, our speaker is Margaret O’Shaughnessy (Director of The Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum). She will entertain us with stories about the famous Irish actress and singer Maureen O Hara. She worked with some of the greatest directors like John Ford & Alfred Hitchcock. Week two focuses on Charles-Camille Saint-Saëns. He was born in Paris in 1835, he gave his first public concert at the age of five. Franz Liszt described him as ‘the greatest organist in the world’. Week Four looks at the life and military career of Napoleon. Napoleon Bonaparte is considered to be one of history’s greatest military leaders.
