Sarah Corbett Lynch has launched her memoir, ‘A Time For Truth: A Daughter’s Search for Justice and Healing’ at a special launch event where the young author says the book has “given me a voice”.

The courageous memoir officially launched with a special event at O’Mahony’s Bookstore on Thursday, March 6, shares Sarah’s story following the tragic events surrounding her father’s death in 2015 and her journey of grief, healing, and a search for justice.

Raw, powerful and inspirational, ‘A Time for Truth’ is an unforgettable story of heartbreak and loss, but also of strength, love and courage as this remarkable young woman has survived, healed and thrived – against the odds.

Speaking at the event, Sarah told I Love Limerick, “My book is about my life and my journey through the court system in America trying to find justice for my dad, and healing, and it’s about my life before and after the night of August 2nd.”

Sarah told I Love Limerick it felt like she finally has a voice to tell her own story, saying, “I’m delighted to be able to finally have launched my book because it’s given me a voice, and I think it’s really important for people to know that I’ve gotten through my trauma and I’ve gotten through my experiences, but there are other people out there who are still experiencing it, and that’s really important.”

At the age of 14 the author released her children’s book ‘Noodle Loses Dad’, her debut release, which helps young readers cope with grief and loss; by donating copies of ‘Noodle Loses Dad’ to schools and bereaved children, Sarah’s commitment to helping others navigate their grief by sharing what she learned from her experiences has been appreciated globally.

Taking the opportunity to thank the people of Limerick and those who have supported her, Sarah said, “The support from Limerick has been amazing throughout the years. When I moved back, it was like getting a big hug from the whole county, and I really wouldn’t be here today without them.

“I recently watched Light The Way Home for Jack and Sarah that was on the I Love Limerick page and it made me so emotional because I didn’t know it even happened for about a year until I came back, and it’s just so beautiful to realise how many people that didn’t even know me cared so much. That’s why the people of Limerick just mean so much to me. I just want to thank everybody for their support, people who’ve messaged me and people who are commenting on my social media and coming to the book launch. Thank you so much!”

‘A Time For Truth: A Daughter’s Search for Justice and Healing’ is available to buy online and is in bookstores now.
