After an incredibly successful 22/23 season, Sarsfields now invites players of all abilities, experiences and identities to join them for a 6-week rugby camp introduction starting on Monday, September 11, 2023.

The format will be mixed gender, non-contact with a focus on fun and developing core skills of the game. Sessions will be run by our team of coaches who tailor our sessions to suit all levels. Anyone interested in getting involved is asked to register at www.sarsfieldsrfc.ie

Sarsfields Rugby is the Midwest’s first LGBTQ+ inclusive rugby project. Sarsfields Rugby launched at Limerick Pride in July 2022 and ran their first training session in September with a handful of members. Since then, our membership has grown to 40+ and Sarsfields has become much more than a rugby project, they have created a safe space for queer people in the Midwest.

In their one year, they played in Musgrave Park against Cork Hellhounds, faced off against the Emerald Warriors, took part in Pig’N’Porter and kicked off pride month by launching their official kit and finally ended their season walking tall and proud in this year’s Limerick Pride.

Sarsfields Chairperson, Dave Cuddihy says “over the past year Sarsfields has grown into something special. What started as the region’s first inclusive rugby project has developed into a community where our members have not only developed their rugby skills but have also formed long lasting friendships. We pride ourselves on our welcoming and inclusive environment and can’t wait to kick of our second season with members both old and new”

So, get your face out of the screens and get your feet on the field with Sarsfields Rugby!
