Gateway to Education Limerick asks “make back-to-school a little easier on everyone” with school uniform donations
Gateway to Education Limerick has called on the public to help “make back-to-school a little easier on everyone” by donating school uniforms.
The charity made an announcement on social media, saying they have received requests for school uniforms but it is “becoming increasingly difficult” to source new styles and the correct sizes.
Appealing to the public, the group said, “We are receiving lots of requests for school uniforms at the moment. Unfortunately, finding the right sizes and the newer, updated uniform styles is becoming increasingly difficult.

“If you have school uniforms that your children have outgrown, we’d be so grateful if you would consider donating them to help local families.”
Gateway to Education Limerick has also asked those in need, who are searching for support with school uniforms, to reach out to them.
They said, “If you’re looking for a specific school or size, please contact Rosie, who will do her best to help you find what you need. Thank you for supporting our community and helping us make back-to-school a little easier for everyone.”

Founded in 2012, the charity began with a simple aim — to make schoolbooks affordable and accessible for local families. Over time, it evolved into a unique organisation that connects education, sustainability, and social inclusion through practical, community-led action.
The group operates two central hubs in Limerick — a charity shop on Wickham Street and a storeroom and training centre at the Tait Business Centre. Together, these spaces provide real-world training opportunities, inclusive employment pathways, and a welcoming environment where people can build skills and confidence.
