Over 52,000 passengers to be welcomed at Shannon Airport over the bustling June Bank Holiday period

The good news continues for Shannon as overall passenger numbers from January to the end of May this year are up 8 per cent (over 753,000 versus 700,000) when compared to 2023.

The airport is expecting this weekend to be the busiest of the year to date as the summer holiday travel period gets into full swing.

Commenting on the June Bank Holiday passenger numbers, Mary Considine, CEO of The Shannon Airport Group, said, “Our team have been working hard to ensure that passengers coming to Shannon Airport over the busy Bank Holiday period and throughout the summer can have an enjoyable and easy experience travelling through our airport.

“With additional capacity and increased frequencies on a range of Ryanair services and the recent introduction of Delta’s new service to New York-JFK, passengers have a wide variety of destinations to choose from. This summer we will operate 33 services to 11 countries in popular locations in Europe, the UK and US.”

Ms. Considine added, “We have passengers flying Shannon from all parts of Ireland as they discover the convenience and ease of using our airport. There’s also a steady rise in tourists arriving to explore the Wild Atlantic Way, which will significantly benefit the regional economy this summer. We thank our passengers for choosing to fly Shannon.”
