 Sharon McMeel was last night announced as the weddingsonline Awards 2018 Wedding Planner of the Year during a glamorous black tie gala ceremony co-hosted by Presenter Lisa Cannon and sponsored by wedding planning software Moposa.

Beginning her wedding career in 2007, Sharon Mc Meel has now been involved in hundreds of weddings and winning weddingsonline Wedding Planner of the year two years running is testament to her professionalism and attention to detail.

The country’s top wedding businesses and services gathered at the prestigious event to celebrate the winners of Ireland’s leading wedding awards.

“I went out last night to have a great night with my friends and peers in the wedding industry and then to actually come away with the Wedding Planner of the Year award for the fourth time was unbelievable. I’m over the moon,” said Sharon Mc Meel.

Over the past year, Sharon McMeel was featured in the Bride Guide series on TV3’s Ireland AM and planned the weddings of Ireland AM Presenter Ciara Doherty and Richard Stearn in Spain and Joe.ie and Maximum Media Ireland owner Niall Mc Garry and Sarah Hennessey in Dromoland Castle, Co Clare.

Over 25,000 couples voted for their favourite suppliers and venues in a range of categories, who were then judged by a panel of digital marketing professionals and wedding industry experts. Judges this year were Sara Kennedy, sales & marketing specialist and wedding blogger for IrishWeddingBlog.ie, Ciamh McCrory, digital & communications guru, Blaithin O’Reilly Murph, author & award-winning Wedding Planner, and Yvonne Murray, founder of management consulting firm YDM.ie.

“The annual weddingsonline Awards which are now in their 9th year, have become the industry standard, rewarding the dedication, professionalism and e­­xceptional service given by the Irish wedding industry,” said Peter Bryans, MD of weddingsonline. “I know that all involved, both nominees and winners alike, are honoured that their commitment and hard work has been acknowledged by couples all over the country. It’s a wonderful achievement.”
