On November 10, Limerick’s own Sharon McMeel Weddings was awarded Event Planner of the Year 2020 at the Corporate LiveWire Prestige Awards which were held virtually this year.
Sharon McMeel began her wedding career in 2007 and is one of the top wedding planners in Ireland for the past decade. Sharon creates innovative experiences for her clients, from intimate affairs to elaborate celebrations. Sharon is a luxury wedding and event planner for Ireland, Spain, and Portugal.
Sharon’s love of party planning came from her mother Delores. For as long as she can remember her mum has organised parties, events, and family-get-togethers. Sharon planned her first party over twenty years ago and what began as a side-line in party planning is now an award-winning, national business.
Sharon is no stranger to winning awards, this wedding planner is highly regarded in her field and has claimed many awards in her thirteen years on the scene such as Wedding Planner of the Year 2018, Luxury Travel Guide Wedding Specialist of the Year 2018 and other prestigious titles.

The Corporate LiveWire Prestige Awards celebrate small and medium-sized enterprises consisting of localised businesses and sole traders that have thrived in their highly competitive community and have proven their success during the past twelve months. The winners selected are those who can best demonstrate their strengths in certain areas.
The awards process this year saw Corporate LiveWire invite over 100,00 businesses and corporate professionals, magazine contributors, and their subscribers to nominate companies and individuals based on factors such as service, innovation, experience, sustainability, and other areas.
Announcing her win on her Facebook page, Sharon shared the great news saying, “So lovely! I have been awarded Event Planner of the Year at the Corporate LiveWire Prestige Awards! I’m truly excited and humbled to win this honour.
