Limerick Civic Trust Autumn Lecture Series presents Simon Carswell
Simon Carswell, a correspondent with The Irish Times, will signal a warning of the dangers of leaving people behind following Trumpism, Brexit and economic recovery at a talk at the Limerick Civic Trust Autumn Lecture Series on Thursday, October 5 at St Mary’s Cathedral.
Hailing from Limerick, Simon was based in Washington Correspondent from 2103 to 2017 and covered the 2016 US presidential election and the rise of Donald Trump. Since returning from the US, he has reported on Brexit and the UK general election.

Organised in conjunction with UL’s Kemmy Business School and the support of LIT and Limerick Council, the six-part series of public lectures will examine many topical issues like the impact of Brexit, Trumpism, immigration, integration in multi-cultural societies, censorship and lots more.
Other speakers in the series include; Stephen Green, former head of HSBC, Shaykh Dr. Uma Al-Qadri, head Imam of Al-Mustafa Islamic Educational & Cultural Centre Ireland, Jodie Ginsberg, Index on Censorship CEO, Ian Ritchie, international architect and Roger Madelin, international property developer.
The lectures, which run on Thursday evenings, start on September 14 and run until October 19 in St. Mary’s Cathedral.
