The Normoyle Frawley Gallery aims to promote new and established artists through their ‘Artist of the Month’ opportunities.
Their new ‘Artist for the Month’ is LSAD graduate Sinead McKillican (@sineadmckillicanart). Sinéad’s vibrant Solo Exhibition showcases a selection of her unique 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional colourful artworks. Works emerge through the dynamic interplay between geometric shapes, and each is infused with a sense of vitality.
Sinéad is a local contemporary artist drawn to minimalism and abstract forms. Sinéad transitioned from a career as an architectural technician to a visual artist over several years. Experiences, skills, and knowledge gleaned from these activities blend seamlessly into Sinéad’s contemporary practice; and continue to foster her fascination with art, design and construction. Compositions emerge through an iterative process. Currently, flexi-plywood offers Sinéad the ability to transform a visual static into something livelier and more expressive. Outcomes is a fusion of simple shapes, forms, neutral colours and a limited materials palette; elements key to tantalising the viewers optical and tactile senses. Sinéad’s intention is to celebrate each visual as a unique physical object.
Previously Sinéad exhibited work at the Limerick City Gallery of Art, Royal Hibernian Academy, Belltable, Circuit Art, K-Fest, The Hunt Museum, Limerick and The Courthouse Gallery & Studios, Co. Clare. Some of Sinead’s awards include works purchased by Limerick City Gallery of Art and The Hunt Museum, Limerick. Currently Sinéad also has work included in ‘SVITTLO’ an event organised to raise funds for Ukraine refugees.
