Sinead’s show, which has received positive reviews, will now be playing in London at Riverside Studios from Wednesday, February 9 to Sunday, February 22.

Riverside Studios is an arts centre in London along the River Thames run by the charity Riverside Trust which hosts performances, films, visual arts exhibitions, and television production.

While the studio has recently been redeveloped in 2019, the old studio has been a host to acts such as Amy Winehouse and David Bowie.

Sinead O Brien Prague "Sinéad gave wonderfully sensitive and honest performances, and we received such gorgeous feedback from the audiences", said associate producer Liam McCarthy.

“Sinéad gave wonderfully sensitive and honest performances, and we received such gorgeous feedback from the audiences”, said associate producer Liam McCarthy.

Annacotty native and playwright Sinead O’Brien performed her one-woman show, ‘No One is Coming’, at the renowned Prague Fringe Festival last weekend.

The show is a biographical comedy, using dark humour to tell the story of O’Brien’s unconventional upbringing.

Infused with Irish mythology, ‘No One is Coming’ addresses the effect of mental health issues on both the afflicted and those around them.

Sinead performed her artwork for thousands of festival-goers, who come to venues across the Malá Strana district of Prague each year to experience a mix of theatre, comedy, music, dance and storytelling.

The hit show was created by the Limerick woman as part of the Octopus Soup Theatre company, partly based here in Limerick.

A self-described ‘travelling storyteller’, Sinead has performed in shows across Europe, taken up residencies in London and even enjoyed a spell as a storyteller in Dublin’s National Leprechaun Museum.

Her most recent Limerick-based work includes ‘This Little Piggy’ with Octopus Soup Theatre, staged at the Belltable, and an appearance in ‘A Talent for Lying’ by Liam McCarthy, at The Loft venue on George’s Quay.

McCarthy, who served as the Associate Producer of ‘No One is Coming’ and is an artist-in-residence at the Belltable, told I Love Limerick, “It was so exciting to be back at a theatre festival after being locked down for so long, and a thrill to see international work and meet with artists from all over Europe again. The show sold out, and was a little bit of an unexpected hit.

“We’ve been invited back to the festival again, and we can’t wait. Sinéad gave wonderfully sensitive and honest performances – packed with humour and nuance – and we received such gorgeous feedback from the audiences”.

Sinead’s previous work with Octopus Soup Theatre has been described as ‘brilliant, intriguing and captivating – it is easy to see that Octopus Soup Theatre is going to explode in the next few years’.
