Limerick’s Dolans Warehouse to feature in Songs from an Empty Room

Dolans Limerick is proud to have been chosen as a participating venue for the Songs from an Empty Room live broadcast which is set to be aired on RTE TV and radio channels on Saturday, July 25.

Presented by EPIC in association with RTE, Songs from an Empty Room will feature a night of performances with a host of Irish artists in venues across Ireland, including Dolans Warehouse in Limerick.

Hosted by RTÉ 2FM’s Jenny Greene and Eoghan McDermott, this broadcast will raise awareness for the live events industry as a whole and the number of individuals and businesses impacted.

All funds raised will support two event industry resources Minding Creative Minds, a 24/7, free wellbeing and support programme for event industry professionals and contractors and the Association of Irish Stage Technicians (AIST) Hardship Fund.

The event will be broadcast live on RTÉ2 TV, RTÉ 2FM or RTÉ Player on Saturday, July 25th from 8.30 pm. Dolans Warehouse will see stunning performances from Eve Belle and Sorcha Richardson.

Songs from an Empty Room will feature artists from all over the country.

Featured artists from other Irish venues will also include Aimée, Denise Chaila, Eve Belle, Fia Moon, Gavin James, Jafaris, James Vincent McMorrow, Lisa McHugh, Lyra, Mother DJs, Noel Hogan (The Cranberries) with Danny O’Reilly (The Coronas), Picture This, Soulé, The Academic, The Blizzards, The Coronas and The Stunning

Songs from An Empty Room will be an unmissable show, a memorable, poignant and historic night of Irish music in these extraordinary times.

In addition to providing an incredible night of entertainment, the broadcast will also feature fascinating insights from behind the scenes of Ireland’s event industry and the exceptional people who come together to make our extraordinary live events happen.

Speaking in advance of the performance Mick Dolan said: “The past few months have been very difficult for so many of us who dedicate our lives to bringing live music to fans across the nation”

“We often forget the many people who put in countless hours behind the scenes to make gigs come to life. This live broadcast on RTE will allow us to come together and show our support for these industry professionals who have been particularly affected by Covid-19”.

Songs From An Empty Room will be broadcast live on RTÉ2 & RTÉ 2FM, Saturday, July 25, 2020, 8.30 pm – 10.45 pm. The show will also be available on the RTÉ Player.  Branded crew merchandise will also be available to purchase through the website with all proceeds from these sales going to the initiative.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online.
