Princes, princesses, spidermen and every other character in-between showed up for the coffee morning in the George Boutique Hotel to commemorate little Limerick lady Sophie Mulcahy on her first anniversary which took place on October 23 and also to raise funds and awareness for Sophie’s Journey Foundation.

The morning was a huge success raising €500 going straight to the charity which help’s sick children and their families through some of the most difficult times in their lives.

One of Limerick’s best-selling author’s Roisin Meany was at the coffee morning doing Story Time with the children and Tony Baloney did magician work with all of the kids.

Nollaig was delighted with the turnout and thanked everyone for their support: “Today is about raising as much awareness and funds as possible for Sophie’s Journey Foundation so they can keep doing the great work they are doing in Limerick. They do in-home respite care for terminally ill children so at the end of the day it is never a happy outcome but we can work to make their journey better”

“Thank you so much to the George Boutique Hotel for having us and of course Liam Mulcahy for letting me do this coffee morning for Sophie’s Journey. I also want to thank Hanora K designs for all of the beautiful prizes, Nails INC in Brown Thomas, Jimmy C make up, Obsessed hair makeup, Kaya, Caroline Mitchell Knitwear, OReillys, Forever Living, Eva Birdthistle, Paul Mullens and many more, everyone has been so great and helpful and every one in Limerick has been so supportive.”

Father of Sophie Mulcahy and co-founder of Sophie’s Journey Foundation Liam Mulcahy spoke to the crowd who showed up to support the foundation and families in Limerick: “I want to thank you all for taking the time to come out here this morning. We deal with families with terminally ill kids, most of them are from Limerick and from around the Mid-West so everything we raise throughout coffee mornings and cycles go directly to helping these families. This year unfortunately we have had to help four families already, we are trying to grow our foundation, we are only in our early days. Thanks to Nollaig and the team at the George and everyone for coming here today for helping us to grow, it is great to see all of the princes and princess decked out this morning.”
