Sophies Journey Foundation Coffee Morning at The George Boutique Hotel Oct 29
A coffee morning in aid of Sophie’s Journey Foundation will take place in The George Boutique Hotel on October 29 at 10AM. The event is being held by Miss Limerick Nollaig Malone who is an ambassador for Sophie’s Journey Foundation and the 2015 Limerick Rose of Tralee Rachel O’Neill will also be there on the morning.
Having placed in the top 15 in the Miss Ireland competition, Nollaig is now continuing her role as Miss Limerick 2015. As ambassador for Sophie’s Journey Foundation, Nollaig wishes to raise vital funds and awareness for this Limerick based charity developed by Liam and Stacey Mulcahy as a foundation in January 2015 to support families who were dealing with children with life limiting conditions in memory of their daughter Sophie who sadly passed from kidney failure on October 23 2014.
Nollaig is holding a princess themed coffee morning to commemorate Sophie just after her one year anniversary. The coffee morning is for adults and children with the hope that everyone will dress up in a princess theme (or any fancy dress) and boys’ costumes are more than welcome too.
There will be plenty of goodies given away to the children and adults on the morning with fun activities for them to take part in. Nollaig says: “We are looking for people to dress up if they want and to bring all their kids along, it is a princess theme but really we just want everyone to put on their Halloween costumes a few days early! There will be prizes for adults and children including Formula For Fun passes and Delta Lazer and Adventure Centre passes for kids. For adults there are free nails from Brown Thomas and Eva Birdthisle has also given a studio session for up to 6 as a prize along with Paul Mullins Photography who is giving a €100 wedding photography voucher plus much more. There will also be a real life princess on the day to talk to all the children. It is a great local cause very close to my heart. I’m hoping to celebrate Sophie’s life and raise as much funds as possible as I can.”
Nollaig added: “Any donations and help in making this coffee morning the best it can be would be very much appreciated.”
